you for the facts and not the hype,,thanks again
I listened to your comments/podcast last night and you were right on target. I’m a Vietnam era Marine with no intelligence analysis background, but it didn’t take much for me to see that they were in the wrong place at the wrong time for the wrong reasons. I commented on the O K website that the talk about the FBI starting a “civil war” was nuts. You and I both know there can be no insurgency, much less a civil war, without a great deal of support by the general population. We have nothing like that. If we did, many of these questions might be settled at the ballot box, or jury box, rather than resorting to the cartridge box. I tried to counsel that this would only be used to portray the Patriot movement as domestic terrorists and criminals. I was basically told I was a pussy, it was time for action, and “we’re not worried about PR”. Well, as you pointed out, this “action” lead to one dead and many arrested, with the PR fallout yet to be seen. I’m sure Malheur will be mentioned in the future inside LEO circles, in the MSM, and in the bureaucrat/legislative/executive excuse making world.
I’m a Vietnam era Marine with no background in intelligence analysis, but it didn’t take me long to figure out they were in the wrong place, at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons. I commented on the OK website that the talk about the FBI being warned they will “cause a civil war” was ridiculous. I said this incident would only be used to portray the Patriot movement as a bunch of domestic terrorists and criminals. You and I both know that an insurgency, much less a civil war, must have a great deal of public support to have a chance. If we had that, many of these issues would likely be settled at the ballot box or in the jury box, without resorting to the cartridge box. I was basically told by Rhodes I was a pussy, they were not worried about PR, and this was the time for action. Well as you pointed out the “action” lead to one dead, many arrested, and nothing but bad PR accomplished. The PR fallout over time remains to be seen. I will bet that Malheur will be brought up in LEO circles, the MSM, and the bureaucrat/legislative/executive excuse making apparatus. It’s just more fodder for the anti-gun, anti-freedom, pro big brother crowd.
